Check your draft before it is examined, not after.
OwnVoice shows which passages of your thesis may read as AI-generated, so you can rewrite them in your own words while you still have time to.
- Flags passages with a likelihood, never a verdict
- Guides you to rewrite; it never rewrites for you unless your university allows declared AI use
- Keeps a record of your drafting you can show your supervisor
How it works
Step 1: Build your voice, upload a draft
Add past writing so OwnVoice knows how you write, then upload any chapter.
Step 2: See flagged passages
Sentences and paragraphs are marked as likely or possible, with the reasons why.
Step 3: Rewrite in your voice
Prompts help you say it your way. Nothing is rewritten for you without your choice and a label.
Step 4: Re-check and keep a record
Track progress and export your drafting history.
Your writing stays yours
Drafts and writing samples are encrypted, stored in the UK or EU, and never used to train any AI model. You can delete any item, or everything, at any time. Nothing is shared with your university unless you choose to share it.
Please read: what a flag means
No detector can prove who wrote a sentence. A flag means a passage shares patterns common in AI text. A clean check is not a guarantee of any other detector’s result. Fluent formal writing, and writing by non-native English speakers, are wrongly flagged more often. With only a little of your own writing in your voice library, the “unlike you” comparison is weak. Use OwnVoice to review your work, not to judge it.
